The Salt House Nominating Committee is looking for prayerful, faith-filled folks to jump in and help lead as we continue working toward our mission and vision in this community.

If you have spiritual gifts aligned with leading, please touch base with a staff or Nominating Committee member!

Leadership & Team Roles at Salt House

We are looking to fill the following roles (starting in July):
  • Council:
    • President
    • VP
    • At Large (2+ spots)
  • Nominating Committee - 4 members

Church Council Rhythms & Responsibilities:

  • Monthly meeting
  • Additional meetings to address specific topics/tasks when necessary
    • Council retreat yearly
    • A few emails throughout the week
    • Attendance at community meetings (Finance Updates, Annual Meetings)
  • Serve as a liaison to a specific area of Salt House ministry
  • Be present in the community!

Council President

  • 2-year term
  • Preside over meetings of the congregation, council, and executive committee
  • Prepare agendas for above meetings; lead council in addressing issues that arise;
  • uphold constitution and bylaws to make sure policies are followed
  • Time Commitment:
    • 2 hour council meeting once per month
    • 1 hour executive committee meeting once per month (currently online)
    • Preparation for meetings
    • Meetings/emails with Pastors, Council members, and members of congregation

Council Vice President

  • 2-year term
  • Attend council and executive council meetings; present devotionals @
  • council
  • Assist President and Secretary in their duties when necessary
  • Serve as a liaison to an area of ministry at SH
  • Time Commitment:
    • 2 hour council meeting once per month
    • 1 hour executive council meeting once per month (currently online)
    • Time necessary to complete liaison role
  • Ideally, VP will serve as President after VP term

Council At-Large 

  • 2-year term (members rotate for overlap)
  • Serve as a liaison to an area of ministry at Salt House
  • Lead and assist with congregational activities
  • Time Commitment:
    • 2 hour council meeting once per month
    • Any hours necessary to complete liaison role

  • Family
  • Building & Grounds
  • Shelter Engagement
  • Care Ministry
  • Reparations

Nominating Committee Rhythms & Responsibilities:

  • 1-year term
  • Work with staff to propose candidates for leadership positions
    • Reach out to potential candidates to discuss interest and fit fo specific roles
  • Meet with previous committee in summer/fall
  • Monthly (or more) meetings starting in January to identify candidates before June annual meeting
