Youth Group Co-Leaders

Howdy! I (Rachel Horton) would like to set up our youth for a successful, fun, and engaging 2025-26 programming year! This means having volunteers and support set up for the new youth leader (or myself!) before the fall kickoff. I'll try to answer some common questions here about Co-Leading at Salt House.

What is the commitment?
It would be a one-year commitment (August 2025 - June 2026). Each group meets for 1 hour per week. As a coleader, you will be in-charge some sessions, so you may want to set aside 30 minutes during those weeks to go over the lesson.

What do I need to do as a co-leader?
While you may be leading the group some weeks, all of the curriculum and materials will be provided to you -- you don't have to come up with anything by yourself (unless you have some game ideas you want to share!).

What makes a good co-leader?
Someone who is willing to sit with the youth and genuinely engage with them. None of us know everything, so it's okay not to have all the answers -- just be willing to talk about it and form relationships with the kids. And be ready for FUN! The youth often go out and do fun things -- pumpkin patch, rock climbing, service projects, etc. If this is something you love, this volunteer position is PERFECT FOR YOU!

Please prayerfully consider if this service opportunity might be right for you. These programs don't happen without volunteer support, so thank you for considering!

Let me know if you have any questions :)
